These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the BuildWise platform, including the website, mobile-optimized web app, and related services (collectively, the "Service") provided by BuildWise LLC ("BuildWise," "we," "us," or "our").
By creating an account, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
BuildWise provides a software platform that helps homeowners:
BuildWise is a software tool. We are not a licensed contractor, engineer, architect, or real estate professional. Nothing in the Service constitutes professional construction, engineering, legal, or financial advice.
You must be at least 18 years old and a resident of the United States to use BuildWise. By creating an account, you represent that these statements are true.
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. Notify us immediately at support@buildwiseapp.com if you suspect unauthorized access.
You may not create accounts on behalf of others without their permission or create multiple accounts to circumvent subscription limits.
Plans: BuildWise offers monthly subscription plans (Starter, Pro, Pro+) as displayed on the pricing page. Prices are in USD and subject to applicable taxes.
Billing: Subscriptions are billed monthly on the date you subscribe. Payments are processed securely by Stripe. By providing payment information, you authorize us to charge your payment method on a recurring basis.
Cancellation: You may cancel your subscription at any time from your account settings or by emailing support@buildwiseapp.com. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period — you retain access until then.
Refunds: We offer a 7-day money-back guarantee on your first subscription payment if you are not satisfied. After 7 days, subscription fees are non-refundable. To request a refund, email us within 7 days of your first charge.
Price Changes: We may change subscription prices with 30 days' notice via email. Your continued subscription after the notice period constitutes acceptance of the new price.

BuildWise is not a party to any agreement between you and a contractor and accepts no liability for contractor performance, workmanship, cost overruns, project delays, or disputes.
Cost estimates provided by BuildWise are based on regional labor rate averages (RSMeans, BLS) and typical material pricing. They are estimates only and may differ significantly from actual contractor bids. BuildWise does not guarantee estimate accuracy. Always obtain multiple contractor bids before making financial decisions.
Permit information provided by BuildWise is for general guidance only. Building codes and permit requirements vary by jurisdiction and project scope and change over time. Always verify permit requirements with your local building department before starting any work. BuildWise is not liable for any fines, stop-work orders, or other consequences of unpermitted work.
The Owl AI assistant provides general renovation guidance based on typical project patterns. Owl's responses are informational only. Always consult licensed professionals (contractors, architects, engineers) before making decisions that affect the structural integrity, safety, or code compliance of your home.
You agree not to:
BuildWise and all its content, features, and functionality (including the Owl character, logo, software, and text) are owned by BuildWise LLC and protected by U.S. copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.
You retain ownership of the project data you enter into BuildWise. You grant us a limited license to store and process that data to provide the Service.
BuildWise is a participant in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program. Product links in the Materials section are affiliate links — if you purchase through them, we earn a commission at no additional cost to you. We only recommend products we believe are relevant to renovation projects.
TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, BUILDWISE LLC AND ITS OFFICERS, EMPLOYEES, AND AGENTS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING LOST PROFITS, PROPERTY DAMAGE, OR PERSONAL INJURY, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE OR FROM ANY CONTRACTOR RELATIONSHIP INITIATED THROUGH THE SERVICE.
OUR TOTAL LIABILITY TO YOU FOR ANY CLAIM ARISING FROM THESE TERMS OR YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE SHALL NOT EXCEED THE TOTAL AMOUNT YOU PAID TO BUILDWISE IN THE 3 MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM.
You agree to indemnify and hold BuildWise LLC harmless from any claims, damages, or expenses (including attorney's fees) arising from your use of the Service, your violation of these Terms, or your interactions with any contractor found through BuildWise.
We may suspend or terminate your account at our discretion if you violate these Terms. You may close your account at any time. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ends immediately. Data deletion follows our Privacy Policy.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida, without regard to conflict-of-law provisions. Any disputes shall be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Lee County, Florida.
We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated by email or in-app notice with at least 14 days' notice before they take effect. Continued use of BuildWise after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
